Other Business

Budget Update: Total doesn’t reflect where we truly are. We have actually spent $5,480.00 on software renewals and the teacher/aide pay has not been deducted yet.

SIP Timeline: We have two months to approve the SIP. We would like to keep the Trustland money for the STEM department (i.e. $7,000 for STEM Aide, $3,000 for STEM Materials). Keep $11,000 for PLC Conference. Keep Americorps for Language Arts, Look at getting an aide for math and using district benchmarks as the goal. The teachers also gave Matt a list of their ideas for using the Trustland money. They are as follows: Have a specific goal for reading, math and writing, 80 percent should be reading above or on benchmark, focus on STEM, have a science focus. Everyone likes the 7 Habits program, but not necessarily the Leader in Me Program. Look at maybe eliminating that. Matt can’t see the benefit of spending money on Leader in Me, however he agrees that everyone needs to be consistent with the Leader in Me program. Next meeting, which is March 14th, 2018, we will need to vote on the SIP.

Public Input

Additional Eye Test – Matt will check with other schools in the district to see what their opinions are on spending money for the additional eye test and if it is even feasible to conduct. Another suggestion: we should train the teachers to talk to parents about having their child’s eyes tested as a solution to a his/her reading struggles.
